How many calls is your funeral home missing?

Enter your own numbers to see how many calls go unanswered each week, month and year. Nothing is stored and there's no sign-up.

Use your phone system's call log if you can. It's more reliable than a guess.

4

unanswered calls a week

17

a month

208

a year

Each one is a family who reached voicemail or a ringing phone. Some may have been calling because someone had just died.

How is the number worked out?

The calculator uses only the two numbers you enter. It doesn't assume any industry average.

  • A week = calls a week × share unanswered
  • A month = the weekly figure × 52 ÷ 12
  • A year = the weekly figure × 52

A worked example

A funeral home that receives 40 calls a week and leaves 10% unanswered misses 4 calls a week. That's about 17 a month and 208 a year: 208 families who reached voicemail or a ringing phone.

What if every one of those calls were answered?

Sleepless Director answers every call in your funeral home's name, day and night, books arrangement and pre-need meetings, and transfers at-need calls to your on-call director.

Frequently asked questions

How many calls does a funeral home miss?

It varies a great deal between funeral homes, by staffing, hours and call volume, so we don't quote an average. Your phone system's call log is the most reliable source for your own number.

Where can I find how many calls we miss?

Your phone provider's call log or call reports usually show answered and unanswered calls. Your Google Business Profile performance report also shows how many calls came from your profile.

Why doesn't this calculator show a dollar figure?

Because each unanswered call is a family, not a sum. We count calls so you can see the size of the gap, and you know better than anyone what each one means to your funeral home.
